Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services range from the specialist services provided
by the Taranaki District Health Board through to a wide range of community
organisations providing specific areas of care.
COPMIA - Supporting Families in Mental Illness Taranaki now run a service for the children of a parent with a mental illness or addiction. Email: bronte@sftaranaki.org.nz or ph: 06 757 9300 for more information.
TDHB Child and Adolescent Mental Health team provides a specialist service throughout Taranaki.
The team works from two base sites, New Plymouth and Hawera, and offers a number of satellite clinics in health centres and schools. Access is open and the team accepts referrals from statutory and non-statutory health, education and welfare providers.
The Child and Adolescent team uses a multi-disciplinary approach and has close links with the Adult Mental Health Crisis Team.
