Nau mai, haere mai, welcome to this section for Kaupapa Maori Mental Health Services. 
This section has been developed with the assitance of local Maori providers and with the

particular support of Tui Ora Ltd and Te Rau Pani.

In the past decade there has been significant growth in the range of Kaupapa Maori specialist and more general mental health services providing both traditional and mainstream services.

Te Rau Pani is the main Taranaki wide specialist service for Tangata Whaiora for both community based services and at Te Puna Waiora Inpatient Unit.

Their Multi Disciplinary Team consists of:

High Complex Needs Nurse

Community Mental Health Nurses

Acute Inpatient Support Worker

Social Worker

Dual Diagnosis and Alcohol and Drug specialist

Employment Services 

This group of Kaimahi ensures that Tikanga Taranaki and recognised clinical best practice standards are maintained.

Te Rau Pani ensures better service integration and coordination of care so that Tangata Whaiora and Whanau receive relevant, safe, efficient care and information.

Te Rau Pani works closely with other Kaupapa Māori and mainstream services and provides a solid platform for the future development and consolidation of Kaupapa Māori Mental Health & Addictions Services in Taranaki.
